Case-1: Subject: Site instruction on embankment construction with Unsuitable earth work material-reg.

Dear Sir,

It was observed during the visit of IE’s team on XX.XX.2024, that the material within the Km Ch 05.000 to 05.170(RHS), stacked for the construction of subgrade layers, possess oversized boulders. which are to be removed, restacked and relayed with immediate effect.

Case-2: Subject:-Borrow Area No 14 material at Ch: 19+100LHS

Dear Sir,

With reference to the above mentioned subject, you have dumped the borrow area no 14 maternal following location which is having boulders and not meeting the specifications

1) Ch:19+070 to Ch 19+360RHS

2) Ch:19+830 Ch.19+990 RHS

3) Ch 21+370 to Ch..21+730 BHS

4) Ch.24+980 to Ch. 25+650 RHS

You are instructed to remove the boulders from the Material and find alternative borrow area.

Subject: Site instruction on Faulty Embankment Construction-reg.

Dear sir,

In our recent visit we have found that in some stretches of the Project Highway, the embankment constructions are in progress, but, not as per the standard practices. Following are our observations:-

1. The portion of the Project Highway, within the km Chainages 25.250 to 25.350 (Both sides) are being situated in a permanent water logging area. The construction for embankment is in progress, over a scattered layer of huge boulders. This does not comply with the provisions of clause 305.4.6 of MoRT&H specifications (4th revision).

   Hence, you are being instructed to stop work in this portion. It is to submit the methodology based on clause 313, of MoRT&H, for construction in this water logging area for our review, before starting further works.

   

2. In the Major river Bridge approach, within the km Chainages 17.100 to 17.350(LHS) you have started the embankment construction. Now, since, this is a high embankment (height more than 6mt) so, you have to submit the embankment design, with slope corrections etc, for our review, before taking up the work. Hence, please submit the embankment design before taking further works.Thanking you.

Subject: Site instruction on Non-Conformance of Embankment or subgrade Construction-reg.

Dear sir,

It was observed that sub grade 1st layer soil is being dumped on un-compacted Embankment top layer from chainage Km.12+300 to 12+500 RHS. You are instructed to remove the entire dumped soil and execute the work as per MoRTH specification, clause 305.4 with proper documentation.

In view of the above please find enclosed here with the Non conformance report for immediate necessary action on the matter and acknowledge the receipt of the same. This is for your immediate action and compliance.

Subject: Site instruction on unsupportive vegetation soil filling on Median portion-reg.

Dear sir,

It is instructed that, the soils which are dumped for median & island filling is unsuitable for plantation. Such material shall be removed and filled with durable vegetation supportive soil in the above said Chainage i.e, from Km. km. 50+000 to km. 55+000.

It is ensured that, the material to be filled in the median shall be practically free from undesirable matters. Such can be acted upon simultaneously. Compliance to be submitted for the same.

The other locations upon project highway where the activity is pending is also to comply with the above instruction.

Further, at all locations dressing of median soil still to conduct and the additions while to top brim shall also be suitably made up with the most fertile soils. Compliance, with suitable action shall submit to IE office with in Seven days
