As per CA Article 17: Operation and Maintenance of Highways stipulates that,
The concessionaire has obligation to perform major maintenance of project highway. This maintenance includes the pavement resurfacing, repairs to structures, hardware, and other equipment.
According to Clause 17.1.1(d), the concessionaire’s duties include regular preventive maintenance.
The CA calls for periodic repairs to start on the day after the 4th year ends and stop on the last day of the 5th year.
Further, the concessionaire’s obligations extend beyond routine maintenance. Which encompassing of following

- Pavement Cracks and other pavement distresses
- Bridge Joints,
- RCC lined and unlined Drains,
