This has reference to the above subject. We have reviewed the proposed submission. The proposal includes the closure of carriageways and an alternate arrangement plan for highways. You must adhere to the comments and steps mentioned below.

1. At the end of the approach buffer, there must be a type-3 barricade.
2. Approach transition details at each end must be according to standards.
3. The transition changeover for traffic diversion plan implementation is as per the code’s provisions.
4. The traffic movement at the transition zone of the traffic diversion plan must be in accordance with code provisions.
5. Implement safe carriageway shift movements at the transition zone. To achieve this, we must maintain a minimum speed of progress that can pass through the 20.0-meter median opening.
6. Must maintain a buffer zone long enough. to allow the turning traffic to transition into the regular lane.
7. Maintain a buffer area with a noticeable width. Adequate arrangements will provide for traffic from cross-road locations.
8. Need to place Jersey barriers for the lane demarcation and separation of two-way traffic. Additionally, these barriers should be continuous and resilient to both traffic and weather pressures. This requires the filling of Jersey barriers with ballast.
9. The signage should accurately reflect the condition of the ground. Displays of lane-shifting signage must be prominent in a work zone. These signs are more noticeable in confluence zones. The existing signage will be properly masked during the implementation of traffic diversions.
10. The work zone length is limited to short working lengths. If possible, limit it to two to three kilometers at a stretch.
11. Before implementing each closure, IE will notify and review each instance based on site conditions.

Thus, it is necessary that the traffic diversion plan arrangements at the site have the necessary designs, as mentioned above. and manage the traffic safely.

Dear sir

This is in response to your letter requesting approval of a traffic diversion plan. We have found and approved the diversion plan you submitted.

You may execute lane closures for maintenance purposes as follows:

• Either by partial closure of the existing two lanes
• Or by implementing closures on one side of the 4-lane divided carriageway.
• It is important to raise the RFI for lane closure during distress-curing activities.

To regulate traffic in work zones, put in place the following measures:

• Use the appropriate signage.
• Red-colored flags,
• Delineators,
• Barricades, cones, pylons,
• pavement markings, as well as flashing lights.

Thus, we request that you to revise and resubmit the traffic diversion plan. The revised traffic diversion plans is by the specified standards.

Subject: Review observations and approval of traffic diversion plans—Reg.

Dear sir

The diversion plan submitted for the “partial closure of a 2-lane carriageway” requires modification.

The proposal calls for the closure of one side of a 4/6-lane divided roadway, taking into account the following recommendations:.

PARTIAL CLOSURE OF THE EXISTING 2-LANE CARRIAGEWAY

1. The warning sign for “MEN ON WORK” will be the first sign.
2. The drivers of the approaching vehicles should be able to see this sign.
3. This sign will also have a supplementary plate indicating the distance to the work zone.
4. The next warning sign will be “road narrowing” (depending on the lane closure).
5. Depending on the situation, provide a mandatory “KEEP RIGHT” or “KEEP LEFT” instruction.
6. This is particularly important at the start of the transition zone and in the taper phase.
7. Mark the point where the traffic will diverge from its usual route. Choose the traffic channel accordingly.
8. This can be achieved through the use of painted drums or traffic cones. The spacing of these cones and/or drums must be about 9 m or closer, as per site requirements.
9. Additionally, barricades should display the signs of “The traffic lane or the carriageway closed” and “Keep right or left.”

CLOSURE FOR WORK ON ONE SIDE CARRIAGEWAY OF A 4/6 LANE DIVIDED CARRIAGEWAY

1. The warning sign for “MEN ON WORK” will be the first sign.
2. The drivers of the approaching vehicles should be able to see this sign.
3. This sign will also have a supplementary plate indicating the distance to the work zone.
4. The next warning sign will be “road narrowing,” followed by the signs “lane closure,” one after the other.
5. There must be a sign indicating “Closure of carriageway” and “Keep left or keep right” at the location. Expect the vehicle to switch lanes during the diversion.
6. And we must place the “Diversion to other carriageways” sign. Between the “Carriageway Closure” sign and the median gap.
7. There must be a sign indicating the “sharp diversion of route” and the mandatory “turn right or left.”.
8. Place the “two-way traffic” warning sign. And the plate indicates on the sign the allowed two-way traffic distance at the median. Place the median to the left of the moving traffic.
9. Additionally, place cones or painted drums for delineation, beginning at the “CARRIAGEWAY CLOSED” sign location.

Conclusion

Thus, please resubmit the modified diversion plan with the incorporation of the factors mentioned above.

Furthermore, under Clause 18.8.3 of the CA, you must adhere to the safety standards outlined in Section 2.3 (Traffic Control Devices) of Schedule-S in the event of a lane closure or traffic diversion.

The independent engineer will then monitor compliance with Schedule S’s provisions.
